Jack White plays epic set at Chicago Theatre

The guitar hero rips into old hits, cover song and solo tunes in a marathon three-hour concert. See the White Stripe shred in all his blue tinted glory

In case you forgot, Jack White has released a ton of music in the last 15 years. Last night at Chicago Theatre, in the first gig of a two-night Chicago stand, the erstwhite White Stripe delivered a mammoth concert that spanned the catalogs of all his acts. After sporting a throwback Cubs jersey, recently made Internet infamous in a Sad Jack White meme, the Nashville rocker stuck to his minimalist look—white leather boots and black tee. He jumped in the crowd, hopped on monitors, and ripped into solos, including most of the White Stripes' greatest hits.

White and his new combo served up fleshed out versions of "Seven Nation Army," "Fell in Love with a Girl," "Hotel Yorba," etc., and he dusted off "Blue Orchid" for the first time since 2007. The classics far outweighed the five tunes from his latest, Lazaretto, in the three-hour set, which also tossed in covers of Hank Williams, Jimi Hendrix and Robert Johnson, not to mention some token singles from side projects Dead Weather and the Raconteurs.

Tonight, White hits a different old theater, the Auditorium, for another epic set.
