Matthew Hemerlein, who performs as Lo-Fang, shows off his modern-day singer-songsmithery, which matches soulful crooning to beats equally indebted to hip-hop and chamber music. Hemerlein's stirring tunes recently caught the ear of New Zealand pop sensation Lorde, as he opened for her in March. Now he steps out on his own, touring his 4AD debut, Blue Film.
