Description
When it comes to breathing life into Spanish bar foods, this small, contemporary spot in Heart of Italy is an oxygen tank. Pintxos—small open-face sandwiches found in Basque bars—are the draw here. The selection changes weekly, but if you’re lucky, you’ll snag the spicy blood sausage–stuffed red pepper, the juicy lamb or the simple serrano-and-Manchego combo. If not, fall back on tapas like the huevos flamenco (a casserole of potatoes, chorizo and fried eggs) or baby eels, savory and slick with olive oil. But skip the rubbery anchovies and boring scallops—it’d be a shame to leave yet another tapas joint with a bad taste in your mouth.
