Description
Forget lugging around your lunch in a picnic basket—this Puerto Rican lunch truck in Humboldt Park lugs it around for you. As the illustration of a happily skewered pig on the side of the truck suggests, it’s all about the pork here. Pulling the meat from the bone with a pair of tongs, servers pile an enormous heap on top of fluffy yellow rice (ask for lots of skin to get as much of the delicious spice rub as you can). But not everything here comes big enough for three: Baseball-size mofongo (savory balls of green plantain and pork) and mini jibarito sandwiches (pork, rather than the traditional steak, on crispy plantains) make taking the pig to go as easy as pork pie.
