Description
La Madia’s menu is slightly bigger for dinner than it is for lunch. Still, we think the food is better for midday dining. What’s merely fine for lunch (pizza fondue, for example) doesn’t always pass muster for dinner. The pizzas can sometimes transition (a taleggio-and-grape pizza came out of the wood-burning oven with a thin, crisp crust); then again, sometimes they can’t (a spinach-and-speck pie was too soft and overly bready). Luckily there’s always the Wisconsin "electric" butter cookies, which are sumptuous, crumbly and delightful any time of day. In fact, take a few home and you might find they make a good breakfast.
