When the munchies strike, sometimes only a German street food delicacy will satiate your cravings. Head to Dmen Tap (which serves the same menu as the popular Dönermen food truck) and ask for the soul-satisfying currywurst, with hunks of sausage and French fries covered in a delicious red curry sauce.

If you're looking for a dish to share after getting baked with some friends, Lonesome Rose's truck stop nachos should do the trick. The generous helping of chips comes covered in queso, crema and black beans, with a variety of pickled veggies sprinkled on top (you can add beef, chicken or chorizo if you're craving protein). You don't have to be high to appreciate this barrage of Tex-Mex flavors and textures, but it certainly doesn't hurt.

If high you craves sweet over savory, consider a warm, sugar-dusted Italian donut with a squeezable tube of vanilla bean custard (or salted caramel or Nutella). BomboBar's walk-up window makes it easy to indulge on the go.

Feel like digging in to some truly decadent munchies? Bronzeville's Friistyle make some of the best Belgian-style pommes frites in the city, dressing them up with a variety of mouth-watering toppings. The lobster frite is the most expensive option of the menu, but it's worth the money—stacked with chunks of lobster sauted in butter sauce, celery, scallions and an Old Bay aioli.

What is it about French toast that causes restaurants to behave like stoners? At Flo, the bread is covered with Fruity Pebbles cereal and topped with blackberries, raspberries and blueberries (there's also a Cocoa Pebbles option for chocolate lovers).

To be honest, it doesn't matter what kind of tacos you order at this no-frills Noble Square spot, but we do have a soft spot for the al pastor—the meat is tender and laced with rich adobo essence. Just don't forget to hit the ATM before you go; it's a cash-only establishment.

You can't go wrong with any of the absolutely stuffed grilled cheeses on the menu at this beloved dive—which has locations in Lakeview and Wicker Park—but we're especially fond of The Mac, a towering delight of chedder-and-American mac n' cheese nestled between thick slices of Texas toast. Don't forget to utilize that tomato soup dipping sauce.
