With their upscale, four-restaurant food court in the Westin Hotel, Rick Tramonto and Gale Gand have upped the ante for dining in Wheeling. This traditional steakhouse is the most traditional (and expensive) option, offering a solid–but for the most part uninteresting–menu of all the usual steak and seafood suspects. The steaks are fine and all, but we prefer the braised-beef short ribs, with their luscious layers of buttery fat. For dessert, you’ll want to go equally simple: The Brooklyn Blackout isn’t very complex, but it’s one of the only desserts on the menu without an off-putting gimmick.
