After years of providing off-the-cuff corporate gifts for her husband’s business clients, Spanish-born Maria Alfaro-Brooks opened up shop in Roscoe Village. Named for Alfaro-Brooks’s poet father, as a salute to his European lifestyle, the store offers handbags ($30–$1,300), linens ($10–$42) and housewares ($10–$90) from Spain, Italy, Portugal and beyond. Shoppers experience some extra European charm when they’re greeted with treats like Belgian truffles and espresso.
