Walgreens on State and Randolph

Back in the early 1900s , Walgreens was famed for popularizing the banana split in the Chicago area (so says our trusty resource, Wikipedia). Consider the just-opened Walgreens at Randolph and State in the Loop the company's new banana split. Never would I have dreamed of walking out of the pharmacy only to hear store employees urging me to return later in the day for its weekly wine tasting. Let alone ushering me to a sushi bar.

Here's why you'll want to walk (believe us, no need to run) to the two-story Walgreens sometime soon. Heck, Rahm already did:

  • For cigar-smokers, a case of fine smokes

  • An extensive wine selection

  • A mani/pedi station

  • Hard-to-find beauty products

  • Self-serve fro-yo

  • International publications

  • Metropolis coffee
