Adventure Stage Chicago's 2014-15 season

Advertising

Adventure Stage Chicago will present three productions for young audiences in the upcoming season, including a new work by Theater Unspeakable about America's early history, a piece in the inaugural Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival and a new devised piece exploring fairy tales, "princess culture" and youth identity.

Theater Unspeakable's The American Revolution (November 4–29) uses seven actors to reenact the Revolutionary War in 50 minutes or less; as in the company's Superman 2050, the cast will be confined to a single 21-square-foot platform.

In Le Petit Cirque (January 17 & 18), copresented with the Chicago Humanities Festival, sound artist Laurent Bigot sets a number of small objects—gadgets, wind-up toys and the like—in motion against one another to create a soundscape in miniature.

The devised piece is being developed by Dani Bryant and Sarah Rose Graber under the working title Project Worthy (April 14–May 16). All Adventure Stage shows are performed at Vittum Theater.
