Lookingglass Theatre Company will produce a new adaptation of Moby-Dick by company member David Catlin in the summer of 2015, the theater announced today. It's the culmination of a 2014–15 season that also includes the Chicago premieres of plays by Lucas Hnath and Will Eno, and a return visit by Catlin's perennial Lookingglass Alice.
The season opens in September with Death Tax by Hnath, whose Isaac's Eye was announced last week for Writers Theatre's season. Ensemble member Heidi Stillman will direct a cast to include J. Nicole Brooks, Raymond Fox, Louise Lamson and Deanna Dunagan. Lookingglass Alice follows in November.
Eno's solo play Title and Deed will open in March starring Michael Patrick Thornton, directed by Lookingglass literary manager Marti Lyons. Catlin's Moby Dick, produced in association with the Actors Gymnasium, closes the season in June. (Lookingglass hasn't specified the length of any of the four shows' runs.)
