In French Sinology, the Grand Dictionnaire Ricci is the largest dictionary in the world of Chinese to a Western language and was originally undertaken by French Jesuit Matteo Ricci (1552-1610).

Next year is the fourth centenary of his death. At this talk, Cheynet Véronique-Cluzel, Vice-President of the Association Ricci, traces the history of this grand publication and the story behind its creation.
