Learn how to recognise a real diamond from a fake

Always lusted after precious stones? Why not embark on a month long gemology course?

Seasoned gemologist Paloma Sanchez, European representative of the World Jewellery Association and owner of Paloma Sanchez Jewellery, is running a course to teach you the tricks of the trade.

Specifically designed to introduce newcomers to gemology, you’ll learn about diamonds, jade and opals alongside organic gems such as pearls, amber and coral, and discover how to recognise a natural gemstone from a synthetic one.

You’ll even get to use instruments from a gemological laboratory as Sanchez urges you to bring along your own gems for anaylsis and observation.

The course lasts from Nov 10 - Dec 3 with classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am-12pm. The fee is 3,200RMB, which includes your own 10x lens, tweezers and all other course materials.
