2nd International LOHAS Forum, China - Dec 12/13
Get involved in sustainable living in China
LOHAS: A necessity rather than a choice!
The 2nd International LOHAS Forum-CHINA will be held at Grand Hyatt Beijing on December 12th-13th 2009.
LOHAS is an acronym for Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability, and is centered on the principles of health, better living, and eco-friendliness. First appearing in China around 2005, LOHAS as a “healthy, happy, organic, ecological and sustainable life-style” is gaining rapid recognition as a popular trend for achieving an improved quality of life.
Sharing a similar philosophy with Chinese culture, particularly the concepts of healthy life, emotional well-being, and sustainability, LOHAS has been applied by Chinese people in various areas including daily life, investment preferences, production and consumption. This inspired the creation of related communities, towns, supermarkets, companies, websites, clubs, and magazines around China.
Our forum is centered on LOHAS in its multiple dimensions and it will develop around different sessions each focused on a specific topic, such as eco-living and green building, renewable energy solutions, socially responsible investing, alternative healthcare, organic clothing and food, high-touch industry, personal development, and sustainable tourism.
Participants will have the chance to listen to prominent experts and leaders from mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, America and Europe, and get to know the latest information on the LOHAS development in China and abroad, its future prospects, and changes in the related market and consumer trends. This makes the 2nd International LOHAS Forum the most authoritative conference about LOHAS in China, as well as China's first high-end professional forum featuring LOHAS development and industry as its theme.
Among others, our guest speakers include Mr Ted Ning, Director of Lohas.com; Prince Charles Foundation; Opportunity Green; Greenpeace; IFAW; Jane Goodall Institute; Kazumi Oguro, pioneer and leader of the LOHAS movement in Japan; Liao Xiaoyi from Global Village – Beijing; China Sustainable Tourism Association; Dr. Masaru Emoto, and many more.
Overall, the Forum aims at allowing national and international institutions, organizations and corporates with like-minded values to come together and share their LOHAS practices, learn from the efforts of others, create new synergies, and share up-to-date knowledge and resources, and introduce themselves to a highly professional audience. All this is to make a tangible contribution to the creation of a mutually supportive community that is invested in the future of our society and planet, and acts as a catalyst for positive change.
Further, attendees will have a taste of living the LOHAS lifestyle. Experiences will include breathing meditation with the professional trainer Subodhi from Indian Puna Retreat Center; discover the secrets of longevity enclosed in China’s ancient traditions Wu yin and Wu xing shared by the international expert of longevity Mr. Zhang Mingliang; enjoy the taiji and yoga performances given by the famous yoga trainer Ms LinMin; and much more!
Our forum highly welcomes government officials, entrepreneurs, organizations, and media that are interested in the LOHAS development and related industries to take part in the event.
