The Stumble Inn

Head down to this friendly subterranean bar

With a set of steep stairs leading down to this basement bar, there’s a very real probability that The Stumble Inn will live up to its name in a painfully literal sense.

This charming, intimate local is the kind of bar set to develop a fiercely loyal following of regulars. The unpretentious décor suits the sportsloving crowd, as do the big-screen projectors, wall-mounted TVs, pool, foosball and dart facilities.

Drinks prices are kept low with 15RMB Tsingtao draught, which is two-forone during their 4-8pm daily happy hour, and a full selection of bar snacks and meals that are equally affordable. Inspiring regulars to return time and time again, The Stumble Inn also has a fantastic loyalty system incorporating their broad selection of beers.

With over 50 types of international lagers, ales, ciders and wheat beers, The Stumble Inn has the city’s most expansive assortment of brews.

A wall chart displays the beers on offer alongside the names of members; drink one of each of their 50 odd beers and you can choose a case of your favourite to take home as a prize.

Needless to say, one week in, several regulars had already completed the challenge. Getting your name up on the board is easy and trying 50 beers from around the world is a fun challenge.

The second basement floor isn’t fully open yet, once completed, however, a small stage will showcase live bands every night of the week.

While it’s never going to attract the pretentious crowds that flock to Beijing’s hotel bars in expensive suits, or the lunatics found convulsing on Gongti dancefloors, The Stumble Inn provides a friendly atmosphere that will serve as a home away from home for expatriates and locals alike.
