Cocktail of the month - Dharma of Pandan

Lantung Thai Bar + Bistro relaunched last month with a new drinks menu that features a number of fruity concoctions, all mixed with special vodkas, created on the premises and infused with a series of Thai spices.

Best of the bunch is the Dharma of Pandan. The pandan leaf is what gives Thai rice its distinct flavour. After the initial pineapple sensation, sharpened with a light hint of mint, the pandan-infused vodka leaves an unusual yet pleasant aftertaste of rice in your mouth.

The aftertaste is reminiscent of sweet, glutinous rice ball desserts and is one of the strangest flavours we’ve ever come across in a cocktail.

The whole thing works very well and, at only 45RMB, it’s refreshing to know that you can get good quality cocktails in Beijing without having to break the bank.

Ingredients: pandan-infused vodka, pineapple, mint
