No Name Bar

The first bar to open around the Houhai Lake is still the best. This tiny former front room of an old hutong home has developed into a cute bar, where you can curl up with the cat and an Irish whiskey in winter or kick back with a beer in the summer. Relaxed and very discreet, the absence of a name on the door keeps the numbers down.

During colder months, it's kept at a warm temperature through classic wood-burning stoves to make you feel right at home. It’s a nice spot to spend some time with your friends or perhaps take out the perfect date. A tropical touch with plants set all over the place, colours on the walls along with a nice photography collection gives the bar a picturesque environment. The area where it’s located is simply put: fun. Filled up with restaurants and hutongs, you can spend the entire day strolling around just taking in Beijing’s lively atmosphere.
