The Opposite House

This urban hotel in Beijing’s buzzing Sanlitun district has been put together by a star line up. Designed by hip Japanese architect Kengo Kuma and with bar and dining concepts from restaurateur David Laris and Neri & Hu, it doesn’t disappoint.

A stunning, super modern atrium forms the reception area, while downstairs popular Mediterranean restaurant Sureño and cool bar Punk pack in the punters. The zen rooms are comfortable and come complete with wooden baths, free minibar and sleek furnishings, but expect to pay for them; The Opposite House’s rooms are practically the most expensive in the city.
