Sandieshui

The main focus is hot pot stuffed with tasty cured spareribs, a specialty of the Naxi ethnic minority, and a dish normally only eaten during the Spring Festival or with guests.

The name ‘Sandieshui’ refers to Naxi banquet etiquette – dried fruits and swee t pastries are offered first, followed by cold dishes and finally hot dishes.

The aforementioned house speciality, the cured spare rib hot pot (78RMB), counts as one of the hot dishes at this banquet.

Good for four people, the hot pot comes with celery, potatoes, tomatoes, Yunnan chive roots, and sprigs of mint, which add a nice flavour to the soup.

Together with young female waitresses (wearing black tops with colourful embroidery), who are attentive and cheerful, Sandieshui is a great place to get a taste of Naxi culture.
