Noodle Loft

The simple noodle dishes of the Shanxi province, which is situated just to the west of Beijing, are the speciality of Noodle Loft. The restaurant is considered outrageously overpriced by locals, but this place is no ordinary noodle stand. It’s a huge space with an open noodle bar on the first floor, where fresh noodles are stretched and pulled, and a comfortable dining area on the second floor. Daoxiao mian, knife-shaved noodles, are a trademark of Shanxi. The noodles come with a sauce of your choice: minced meat sauce, tomato and egg or vinegar. Try stir-fried cat’s ears (just a name, there are no cats involved), with assorted vegetables.
