NLGX Design & Café

Cafes on Nanluoguxiang multiply like mushrooms in a damp forest yet NLGX is refreshingly different. Cosy without being cramped, light pours into all corners of NLGX and its roof terrace beckons sun worshippers. Sandwiches (28RMB) and salads (20RMB) are brought in from neighbouring Vineyard Café and colourful gelato from Gustomento. Although one of the owners boasts about how his coffee machine is so much better than his competition, a single espresso (8RMB), while satisfyingly smooth, lacks the requisite crema on top to prove a barista’s skills. Chocolate chip cookies (12RMB for three) taste homemade.
