Where to buy A blow out wedding
Get all the details you need for that full Chinese wedding
If a Chinese style wedding with all the trimmings is what you’re after, look no further than Coco Bridal, which has enough lace, chintz and crochet to sink a battleship.
Owner Gordon Wang has been in the wedding game for over twoyears, and he’s the planner while his lovely girlfriend (note: he hasn’t put a ring on it yet) takes care of the dresses. Catering to the Chinese luxury crowd, all the dresses are by Hong Kong designers, and will set you back between 3,000 and 15,000RMB. Shoes go for around 590RMB, while tuxedos for the grooms start at a reasonable 3,000RMB. Glitz is the name of the game here.
Wang can also plan your wedding, a service which cost at least 50,000RMB. He claims he can organise one in two months at a push – worth knowing in case you need to hurry that one along.
The wedding can include two hundred butterflies (2,000RMB) or metre-high swan ice sculptures (3,600RMB), depending on how much your doting Chinese parents are willing to fork out. Alice McInerney
