Fashion’s biggest names, including Burberry, Max Mara, Nine West and Zegna, have all settled in charming boutique stores in an immense new outdoor village – the first of its kind in China.
Though a bit suburban Stepford, shopping is a relaxed affair, and the outlet’s pricing policy of a 40 per cent minimum discount is a recessionista’s dream.
We love the Bally high-heeled boots (down to 4,490RMB from 8,974RMB); a great investment piece. Throw on a classic Burberry trench coat (down to 6,480RMB from 16,200RMB) and the look is complete.
Guys aren’t left out, with bargains such as a dapper Dunhill navy velvet blazer at half price (8,075RMB) while a Ports International trench-style jacket, originally 4,299RMB, is now 1,720RMB. Cheaper options can be found at the well-stocked Levi’s store.
A pair of ladies’ dark-washed straight-leg jeans used to be 799RMB, but are now sellingat 240RMB, while the men’s darkwashed and lightly whiskered jeans were 899RMB, but are now 270RMB.
More altruistic shoppers should head to Coach to stock up on small holiday gifts. Two wooden racks are home to a huge assortment of adorable keychain charms that are 350RMB each.
With over 5,000 parking spots, a free shuttle bus from Scitech Plaza, and a subway station due to open on Line 10 next year, making a saving just got a whole lot easier. Jamie Penaloza
