Spin features the work of a group of talented young Shanghainese designers and craftsmen from the home of Chinese porcelain, Jingdezhen.

There’s a huge selection of ceramic art on offer, all of it handmade, singular and delightful. From the lumpy pots collectively known as the Seven Fortunes to the carved Japanese saké bottles and super-square jewellery boxes, the more you look, the more you have to smile.

Relatively reasonably priced (a saké bottles cost RMB 70), they make great gifts for those more interested in the new China than the old.
