ChangPu River Park
This narrow but vibrant park was ‘recreated’ in 2003 because in the 1960s it had become a warehouse of sorts, holding equipment for the pageants that took place in Tiananmen Square. Despite its small size (510m – or 1,673ft – in length), its pavilions, rockeries and stone bridges make it one of the most beautiful and colourful parks in Beijing during the summer months and if you’re lucky you’ll catch one of the weddings that often take place inside. Best reached via Nanchizi Lu or Nanheyan Dajie, just off Chang’an Jie.
