Great Bell Temple (Dazhong Si)
The ‘King of Bells’ refers to the 6.87m- (22.5ft-) high, 3.3m (10.8ft) diameter bronze chimer, weighing in at almost 50 tons, that can be found housed in the temple’s Bell Palace. There are many other bells on display inside the temple courtyards and inside the Ancient Bell Museum, which charts both the artistic and mechanical development of bells throughout the dynasties.
