Yuanmingyuan

Taking up nearly 3.5 million square metres (865 acres), you can easily spend a whole day wandering the grounds of Yuanmingyuan – also known as the Yuangminyuan Remans Park – but if you are pushed for time, Changchuyuan, in the north-east of the park, and its well-preserved fountain ruins and magnificent marble columns, are undoubtedly the best feature. To the west of this there’s a fun labyrinth, a reconstruction of the one that was destroyed during the various onslaughts.
