"Poor, poor boy, jockcelt my friend; still equating commercial success with quality. Don't know who you might be calling an idiot? Anyone with a differing opinion? From my viewpoint, "Avatar" is seeming increasingly negligible the more distance I put between it and me. Fortunately, Tim Burton's delightful "Alice in Wonderland" is out now and we have a film where the novelty of the new technology is successfully matched to a thoughtful and inventive script, and marvelous performances. It left me wanting more, whereas about an hour into "Avatar" I was praying for much, much less... less bombast, less cliche, less "watch me Cameron ego." Cinema marches on."
