"Saw it again on Sunday. I don't think it's a particularly good film but it has a lovely performance from James Franco who did a fine job of endearing Ginsberg to me. He makes a wonderful case for the man but I'm not sure why the film itself goes to so much trouble; by its ordinariness, the animation detracted rather than it added anything. The court room scenes have no balance; those for Ginsberg are noble and serious, those against are a little too weakly absurd. I wish it had allowed the opponents a little dignity but perhaps the opponents had none?"
