"The laughs in this film come from the kids' performances for the most part, and many of these are excellent and not remotely polished or 'stage schooled' - they are just genuinely funny. My kids absolutely loved the first Nativity and they loved this - in the same way that my generation loved Bugsy Malone: because you're watching kids performing and you realise that doesn't happen often at the movies. The beauty of Nativities 1 & 2 is that the stars of these films look totally ordinary and essentially are totally ordinary. I like the set up of the private school pitted against the state school. I also like the occasional little 'class' jibes that are left in there and perhaps we could have done with more of those because they are very appealing! They certainly got a huge laugh from the audience. Ultimately, was really great to go and see a home-grown family movie. Personally I hope there's a Nativity 3."
