Win classic editions of Time OutTo kick off Time Out’s 40th birthday celebrations, the Museum of London is hosting an exhibition of classic Time Out covers from the 1960s to the present day. And what a gloriously iconic presentation they make, from the political bravado of the 1970s to the hedonism of the 1980s and on to today’s very London-centric approach. However, one of the 300 or so covers on display is a fake. It's bogus. A despicable sham. Clue: it marries the early '80s obsessions of lavish musicals and hi-tech computer wizardry. If you can spot the fraudulent image, we’ll reward you with a facsimile copy of the very first edition of Time Out plus one authentic 1970s issue of Time Out of your choice – perhaps the seminal ‘Football Gangs’ issue, or the one edited by the Monty Python team, or one of the politically hard-hitting radical issues on Ireland or Vietnam. Come down to our library to pick one for yourself. To enter the competition you need to get down to the Museum of London, browse the walls, then tell us what's on the cover of the fake issue. Email your answers to bigsmoke@timeout.com, and put 'cover competition' in your email's subject line. Closing date: Thursday October 16 2008 |
