One of London’s most famous sons, David Bailey, has regularly returned to the stomping ground of his youth to photograph the streets and their inhabitants. David Bailey's East End documents the changing physical and social landscapes of the area from the early 1960s to the present day, with streetscapes, characters and scenes of east London life. The Royal Docks, Green Street, Canning Town, Whitechapel High Street and Stratford are some of the locations that feature in his latest exhibition. The exhibition is supported by Newham Council.

David Bailey's East End is part of CREATE 2012, which runs from June 21 throughout the summer and features new projects and commissions across design, film, performance and visual art from artists including You Me Bum Bum Train, Something and Son, Jeremy Deller, Gary Webb, Nicholas Byrne, Anthea Hamilton, Donna Wilson, Ed Carpenter, Devlin and Ms Dynamite.
