Experience the Capital of Culture and tap into the riches of Turkey’s ancient traditions and modern vibe

In 2010, Istanbul will be a European Capital of Culture. Not for the first time, you might think. The legacy of the Ottoman and Byzantine empires is everywhere, both in the magnificent architecture and in the timeless rhythms of the Grand Bazaar; at the same time the city is thrusting forward into a new century as stunning new buildings rise up alongside mosques and minarets.

The Capital of Culture year will see Istanbul experience nothing less than a renaissance in the arts, gastronomy, lifestyle and shopping…
