One of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture in Cyprus, this three-aisled basilica was built in the 10th century over the tomb of Saint Lazarus, who made Larnaka his second home after his resurrection, and later became its first bishop.The gilded icon screen is considered one of the finest on the island.
