Built in the 14th century, the Twin Churches were once frequented by two rival orders of knights. The smaller of them belonged to the Knights Hospitaller, the larger to the Knights Templar. In 1313, the latter came to a dramatic end and the larger church was then taken over by the Knights Hospitaller. Following a recent restoration, the churches are used as an art gallery and café.
