Founded in 2004, the museum houses the artwork of Solomos Frangoulides - a Cypriot artist who visited the village in the 1930s and whose hagiographic paintings adorn the church of Panagia Eleousa, next to the museum. The museum itself once served as the local cinema, but now displays rough drafts as well as complete works by the artist. His subject matter varied from the holy to the mundane: among the charcoal sketches of saints mingle watercolour images of the countryside. National politics too, are given voice in a stirring image of Makarios declaring a fight for freedom, and in the portrait of a fresh-faced Glafkos Klerides (former president of Cyprus).
