Heavy boxes of 'Cyprus Delight' make for deliciously satisfying gifts and Cypriots often go the extra mile to pick them up from this village, whose confectioners have been perfecting the recipe since 1930. Philaktis Pilavaki set up shop here after having earned his culinary stripes in Egypt, firmly establishing loukoumia as a local speciality. Even if the shop is shut, there is generally someone in the attached house to buy from.
