The hub of gay life in Dublin since the early '90s, The George has expanded in size twice over the intervening years to become two bars and a club that's a hotbed most nights, especially on Sundays, when the Shirley Temple-Bar hosts a notorious bingo session. The smaller bar to the side of the venue is nick-named Jurassic Park by locals because it attracts an older clientele, while the main bar has a raised stage, plenty of drag shows and PAs, and a dancefloor that's regularly packed to the gills. If you're gay and visiting Dublin, it's inevitable you'll end up here at some point.
