Plans that were first announced as long ago as September 2004 should (fingers crossed) finally come to fruition at the beginning of 2010, according to the latest information at the time of writing. The project to develop Lansdowne Road into a world-class 50,000-capacity stadium has been keenly anticipated by displaced fans (who continue to watch national and international games at Croke Park). Hopefully, the wait will have been worth it.
