This is a recent venture from Bradley Leitão, the irrepressible owner of Katie O'Connor's Irish Pub. Striving to keep that fine balance of appealing to locals and visitors, SkyBar seems to fit the bill. Off-season it's a busy lounge bar popular with trendy young locals. The vast range of cocktails, beers, smoothies and spirits are reasonably priced and served in a long lounge area. Purple walls, blue neon lights and mirror balls made from cocktail glasses comprise the decor. From April they offer substantial snacks - breakfast, English-style, in the morning, bistro dishes by day, pizzas and pastas after dark.

Despite the appeal of an air conditioned quiet bar with wifi in the middle of a hot day this is not a place for a young woman alone. I was disgusted by the attitude of the barman who was actively encouraging an older man, clearly the worse for wear, making what was clearly very unwelcome advances on a young woman alone in the bar, grabbing and kissing her. She was evidently frightened and asked for help. When I (5'0" female) was unsuccessful in getting him to leave her alone I asked the barman who repeatedly insisted to me that it was "very good" and refused to intervene until he could see I wasn't going to let it go. Completely unacceptable.
