Ever wandered around the Old Town and wished there was a corner bar just for locals, in which everyone was a bit pissed up in a fun way, and where the music was half-decent? Welcome to Laura. Occupying a strategic corner by the Ploče Gate, with a right-angle of tables outside for perfect sundowners, Laura buzzes from breakfast (45kn) to way past the witching hour. If there's no sport on the big TV screen, they'll put on either well-chosen electronica or guitar-driven sounds. Attracts an older clientele but you wouldn't call it staid.

I don’t know if we ran into a random idiot, but the waiter was hostile and aggressive, convinced probably that with our big backpacks (we were going to the airoport, leaving) we won’t be able to pay for our drinks. Nevermore.
