Set in its own pleasant, palm-lined grounds in from the main drag through Lapad down to the beach nearby, the Zagreb feels like it's on holiday. Once installed in one of its homely 23 rooms, take advantage of the back garden and terrace that provide some much needed respite from the holiday swarms, with floodlit tennis courts on hand. Buses for the Old Town stop nearby and half-board rates are a reasonable extra. The nearby Hotel Sumratin is under the same management.
