Legend has it that the Sheep Heid Inn got its name from the motif on a snuff box presented by King James VI before he legged it to London to become James I of Britain (yes, the same James as the King's Wark). For many, the enticing bar menu and selection of guest beers is a reward for tramping over Arthur's Seat. As close as you'll get to an historic country pub in Edinburgh.
