Roomy and comfortable, with a pub-grub menu and music on some evenings, the Canons' Gait offers a modern take on what a Royal Mile bar should be. Despite its location in the middle of tourist country, the place still attracts its share of locals. The pub is named after the route taken by the Augustinian canons from Holyrood Abbey as they entered medieval Edinburgh.
