On the coast stretching west from Leith, tucked away in a conservation village on the banks of the River Almond, this cosy, family-friendly venue is full of welcoming nooks and crannies. It's particularly busy on summer Sundays, when Edinburgh folk come up to these parts for a walk. Dating from the 17th century, the inn is now owned by Yorkshire brewery Samuel Smith's, and does basic pub grub.
