Proud of its credentials as a real ale pub, this boozer eschews the jukebox in favour of encouraging conversation. The atmosphere is in keeping with the pub's traditional decor, and staff are friendly. A fine alternative to the city's more frenetic bars and clubs, if a little bit out of the way. There's free Wi-Fi access.

great pub food and lots of activity in the varied niches, from books to board games and ,real ale beer drinkers watching their waists expand. to degrees their pregnant mothers never had to carry about..this is a definate market for all flavours ,the staff are so attentive, esp if you order food, they know how to serve.

The Regent has just been named Edinburgh Pub Of The Year 2010, voted by local members of the Campaign for Real Ale.
