Novotel's central-Edinburgh property is pretty typical of the chain: clean, straightforward and moderately modern rooms; a small pool, with a sauna and a jacuzzi accommodation; efficient staff; and a bar and a restaurant that are both functional at best. The city's other Novotel, at Edinburgh Park on the western outskirts, tends to be cheaper. Fancy a beer? Cloisters, one of the city's best cask ale pubs, is just a short walk away.
