Not to be confused with the Salisbury relatively nearby, Salisbury Green opened for business in 2006. It's an impressive mid 18th-century residence, which has been converted into a hotel but retained many of its original fixtures and fittings in public areas. Technically part of the University of Edinburgh, it sits within the grounds of Pollock Halls, so there are lots of students around in term time. Rooms are in that IKEA-modern style, but most people love the location (by Holyrood Park) and the value.
