A mid 19th-century villa around a third of a mile west of Haymarket railway station, Dunstane House has been a hotel for more than 40 years. The slightly gothic frontage gives way to a handsome interior, with many period features (including, in some rooms, four-poster beds). The current owners hail from Orkney, which explains the Orcadian influence in the hotel restaurant (Skerries). Across the road and under the same ownership, Dunstane City has a more modish, boutiquey interior.
