Home to the Royal College of Surgeons for years, Surgeons' Hall is a grand classical building. Behind the frontage, however, it's an extensive complex, with a modern extension to the original Georgian premises that includes a conference venue and this hotel (access is around the corner on Hill Place). The rooms at Ten Hill Place are slick and modern, and the central location is a selling point - the premium fourth-floor Skyline rooms have brilliant views across the city. There's a basic café-bar on site, but you're better off looking elsewhere for food and drink. For those with a strong constitution, the pathology exhibition at Surgeons' Hall is a must-see.
